Terms of Use
Last updated: 9 August 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Invoice Hero (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2. The Service
Invoice Hero is a cloud-based invoicing application that lets you create, send, and track invoices, manage clients and projects, connect bank accounts, and estimate tax obligations. The Service is provided for business use by UK sole traders, contractors, and small companies.
3. Your account
You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account and must notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe the rights of others.
- Upload content that is false, misleading, or infringes third-party rights.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service.
- Use the Service to store data unrelated to your legitimate business invoicing.
5. Subscriptions, billing & trials
We offer a free plan and paid plans billed monthly or annually through Stripe. New users receive a free trial of paid features. Trials automatically end after the trial period; if you do not subscribe, your account reverts to the free plan. You can cancel at any time. Refunds are handled at our discretion in line with applicable law.
6. Your invoices and tax obligations
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the invoices, figures, and tax information you create with the Service. Invoice Hero provides tools to help with VAT and tax-year tracking but does not constitute accounting or tax advice. You remain responsible for your own compliance with HMRC and other legal requirements.
7. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third parties including Stripe (payments), TrueLayer (bank data), and email providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of those services. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, its branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of the invoice and business data you create. You grant us a licence to process your data solely to operate the Service.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it meets your specific accounting or tax needs.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or misuse the Service. On termination, your data will be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, except where consumer protections require otherwise.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Contact
